the book of maleki

If you’re easily offended by sexual situations, alcohol and drug abuse, or random acts of vandalism and mayhem, then don’t read this book! The Book of Maleki is the story of 3 years of my life in the 80's playing bass for a low budget touring heavy metal band. In all the years since that I have worked in the music business, I have never heard anybody tell any stories of life on the road that is anywhere near as insane as this was. We had no record company, no management, no credit cards, no cell phones, no fax machines, no e-mail, and certainly no adult supervision. Never again will wild rock bands roam the country off the grid and under the radar. In comparison to the national acts that travel in jets, tour bus, and nice hotels; we were the covered wagons of heavy metal.

Our tales of survival

How we survived 80's rock clubs

In the 1980's my band Maleki traveled the east coast in an old school bus filled with gear, guys and dirty laundry. We went from town to town rocking, drinking and getting into trouble everywhere we went. For the first time in 35 years, Our Singer John "Tax" Compton and Brother CC our everything guy join me to fill in the blanks on some of the stories I have been telling over the years.  If you have read my book, you are defiantly going to dig this.

Got Meth?

The only thing good about living in an alley on a broke down bus was discount meth and joints that looked like strings.

The Acid Guy

I have been telling this story for 35 years.  I never wanted to tell this on video without witnesses, because it's just too unbelievable.  We had parties where people lost their minds or their girlfriends and sometimes their lives.  On this night, it was all three.

You can judge a book by its cover

SHOTGUN SURPRISE

Life in the 80's as a Bass Player in a Touring Heavy Metal Band had many challenges. Staying alive was one of the priorities..

Never Lose the Handcuff Key!

Partying after the show in the 80's required drugs, alcohol, handcuff keys and women who partied harder than the men.
